1-ABRAÇO: I have been enjoying the supremely intense coffee at Abraço since it opened in its original location in 2007. The beans are sourced from South America and roasted in-house and the cow-only milk is organic, but the menu doesn’t brag about any of that. It lets the buzzy atmosphere, rich pour-over and famous homemade olive-oil cake speak for themselves.

2- Sey Coffee: The sleek, lightwood-laden Sey Coffee is a coffee connoisseur’s paradise. 3- La Cabra: La Cabra is one of the city’s best coffee shops right now. The lines at the original location in the East Village snake out the door during rush hour. Truth is, it’s worth it. This Danish import has excellent coffee, exquisite pastries, table service, and an appealing Scandinavian style. If only every day could start with a perfect cappuccino in an earthenware cup and a cardamom bun. There’s a second location in Soho.
